Music Programme

St AMBROSE PRIMARY SCHOOL

MUSIC PROGRAMME

St Ambrose offers a very comprehensive music programme. In addition to a weekly music lesson with a specialised music teacher, the school has bands, choirs, drum lines and a variety of musical arrangements that students can join. These students rehearse every Friday and the program is coordinated by our music teacher Mr Cenda.

In addition to our school music programme, private music tutoring is available. Students are able to be tutored in virtually any instrument by an array of very talented music tutors who operate from within the school.

Music tutoring at St Ambrose is arranged by parents contacting the music tutor directly. Music lessons and pricing is discussed directly with the tutor (see below).

To support  the development of music within the school,  St Ambrose has a leasing arrangement for a number of instruments – these include flute, clarinet, trumpet, saxophone and trombone.  For further information, contact the school music teacher, Mr Cenda.

MUSIC TUTORS

Mark Payne  –     guitar, bass guitar, drums and ukulele

Mark teaches guitar, bass guitar, drums and ukulele at St Ambrose. Ive been tutoring instrumental lessons for 15 years. My passion for music started when I was given the great opportunity to learn multiple instruments as a child in school. It was through learning at school that I took ahold of every opportunity to play in different performances.

Since finishing school and university I have tutored in 10 local schools and played in many different band projects, recordings, musicals, corporate events, Christmas carol productions and sit in player for artists in the local live music scene. I’ve taught students from all ages 4years old to 70 yeas old and my passion is seeing students achieve their musical goals and find their own creative voice on their instrument.

Jocelyn  McLennan – Keyboard / Piano

I’m very happy to be teaching keyboard/piano lessons to your children

at St. Ambrose. I have been playing and studying the piano from the age of seven. I have

completed a Bachelor of Creative Industries in Music and I am now studying a Master of

Teaching degree with QUT.

I would describe myself as a passionate musician and artistic individual. I specialise in

teaching students sight-reading music, piano theory knowledge and skills they can utilise in piano performance. My goal for my students is to be challenged as they learn the beautiful craft of piano playing and to find enjoyment that can nourish them into their adolescents and beyond. This instrument has given me a keen awareness of the rich beauty of music and expression through music. I would love to help my students to nurture and grow in this area.

If your child would like to begin lessons, please get in touch.

NSW Creative Kids Vouchers accepted.
